Calvin clain was basically from a middle-class Jewish community. After developing inclination to drawing and fashion, he made perfect himself in sketching and sewing. He became successful in wining a place at New York’s High School of Art and Design and then went to Manhattan’s Fashion institute of Technology of studying apparel design. Calven Klein got marry in 1964.

Calvin Cline launched his own label in 1968 on the collaboration of friend Barry Schwartz. After this they hired a local tailor for making few dresses and coats. A merchandise manager of the exclusive department store Bonwit noticed the dresses made by calvin cline and he quite impressed and gave order of $50,000 worth order to Calvin Klain and progressively he became famous. Klein and his stylish designs came into fame and featured regularly in Harper’s Bazaar and Vogue. This success was increase by when he introduced the classic and trademark jeans which were tight cut and his name was put on the back of the pocket as a branded name. Every week, Calvin Klein started selling over 40,000 pairs of these jeans.
